A message from our Principal Marla Travis, Ed. M.

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year at West Philadelphia High School! As we embark on this exciting journey together, I am thrilled to share our vision for a year full of growth, innovation, and achievement.

At West, we are proud to offer a diverse range of pathways to graduation: Career and Technical Education (CTE), 21st Century programs, an Honors pathway, and the Arts & Humanities pathway. These pathways are designed to equip our students with the skills and knowledge needed for success in today’s rapidly evolving world. Our CTE programs provide hands-on, real-world experiences that prepare students for careers in fields such as computer networking, digital media, and architectural drafting. Our 21st Century initiatives focus on fostering critical thinking, creativity, and entrepreneurship. The Honors pathway offers a more challenging and rigorous academic experience for students who excel and seek advanced coursework. And our Arts & Humanities pathway offers students a deep dive into subjects related to creative expression and cultural understanding in areas like dance, music, and theater.

Our dedicated team of educators is committed to creating a dynamic and supportive environment where every student can thrive. We believe in nurturing each student’s unique talents and interests, helping them to not only excel academically but also to develop the essential skills needed for their future endeavors.

I encourage you to explore our programs and take advantage of the many opportunities available this year. Whether through advanced coursework, extracurricular activities, or community partnerships, there are numerous ways for students to engage, learn, and grow.

Should you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to support you and ensure that this school year is both productive and enjoyable.

Here’s to a fantastic year ahead, filled with discovery, achievement, and success!
